The Riviera Youth Bike Team (RYBT) creates a long-term positive impact on the health and fitness of ‘at-risk’ 10-13 year old children by developing and fostering a connection to cycling. We cater to those struggling with issues such as obesity, low self-esteem, financial hardship, and learning differences. Our goal is to give children all the tools they need to reach and maintain their health and fitness goals in a fun, organized, and supportive team environment, while learning about longterm resources in the various cycling communities. We provide high-quality coaching and individual attention to all children on the team, so that they can become responsible and safe cyclists. Family support is imperative to making lasting changes, therefore parent participation is encouraged on all rides and in the RYBT final events. It is not required for riders to own their bicycle; accepted applicants will have the ability to earn their bike through the program at no additional cost.
We offer two team programs per year; The RYBT Gibraltar Team Program (March), and The RYBT Rider SB100 Program (August) “geared” for new riders and the Santa Barbara 100’s 34 Mile Event. Please consider supporting our next August program! We are a program registered with Echelon Santa Barbara, a 501(c)3 organization.
March 2016 – Riviera Youth Bike Team Gibraltar Challenge Riders: The RYBT March program focuses on the RYBT Gibraltar Challenge community ride for May 14th, 2016. RYBT Riders train side-by-side with CALM Fitness participants, and numerous Santa Barbara cycling groups.

Funded through generous donations, sponsors, and supported by other non-profits, RYBT leads up to grand cycling events in May & October. The team program gives underprivileged children ages 10-13 the opportunity to take a big first step in the right direction, teaches teamwork, instills a strong work ethic, and brings out the best in each child that goes through it.
